I'm based very close to Burton on Trent, which is a town about 20 minutes from my home. As you might expect, I've been performing in Burton on Trent, and across East Staffordshire since I first began performing in 2001.
I have performed at all sorts of events across the region, including many children's birthday parties (of course) as well as for the children at a wedding at Dovecliff Hall Hotel, and at Christenings, first birthdays and naming ceremonies.

As I mentioned, I’ve performed at all sorts of children’s parties and family events in the Lichfield area. Here are just some of the events that stand out to me.
Full Party Package = Stress Free Kids Party
For kids parties taking place at hired venues such as community centres, church halls and village halls, I always recommend my full party package. Not only is it the best value but as I provide all of the entertainment it means that the party is low stress for you. I include:
- party music as the children arrive at the party and all the time I am not performing
- lively party games that every child can be involved with (all the games are non-elimination)
- organisation of the birthday candles blowing out ceremony and singing of happy birthday
- my interactive magic show where the children and I find the magic together
- colourful balloon modelling so each child has something take home with them
I felt a fraud! I had no entertaining to do at my own daughters party. Ed took care of everything superbly, (from the first arrival, right to the end)!

There is plenty of space for party games and the small stage adds a great theatrical feel to the show. Burton Albion Football Club Magician, Burton on Trent
Previously I performed my magic at Burton Albion Football Club, at the Pirelli Stadium, as part of a football themed family day that took place before a home match. This was in 2019 and it was a great chance to meet lots of children and families who were all there for a fun day out.

Family fun days are a great opportunity to hire kids entertainers and in July 2019, I was hired alongside another entertainer for a large family fun day for a company wishing to thank it’s staff for their hard work throughout the year. I organised both of us to provide entertainment, so while I hosted a family quiz and a magic show, my colleague then provided party games and balloon modelling. Christening Entertainer for Kids
As you may be able to figure out, I perform at a lot of birthday parties throughout Burton on Trent and the surrounding areas. However, family events are another popular choice for a children’s magic show. In May 2018, I provided kids entertainment for a Christening at The Riverside, Riverside Drive, Branston. For Christenings, First Birthdays and Naming Ceremonies, I’m often asked to provide a mixed age magic show and balloon models, but there are various options, so it’s best to get in touch so that we can have a short conversation about what would work best for you.

Yoxall Parish Hall - Venue Recommendation
Yoxall Parish Hall - Venue RecommendationAnother venue I can recommend for kids birthday parties is Yoxall Village Hall, which is outside of Burton on Trent but still close. I performed here for a 6th birthday party in November 2018, and provided my full party package that includes party games, music throughout the party, an amazing interactive magic show (of course) and balloon modelling to keep the fun going even after I’ve left. The client had added lots of decorations and made the venue really cosy which really added to the party atmosphere.
Magic Show on a Boat
This was an unusual one! Most of my events take place in community centres, church halls and village halls, however, in 2017 I was hired to perform a children’s magic show on a boat! Even more strange was that the boat was a narrowboat moored at Barton Marina. Fortunately, my show can stretch out to accommodate large venues or as was the case this time squeeze up to fit into smaller places. I found a space to perform and the children loved the experiences, as did I!
School Magic Show Entertainer
I often perform at nurseries or schools with my magic show. My entertainment for schools is often used for reward assemblies or as an end of term celebration. That was the case in July 2017 when I performed at River View Primary School, Suffolk Road, Burton on Trent. I actually provided two shows for the two different key stages and this is something I recommend for schools. Although I have performed a large show for schools too and that works well if you have a theatre or some sort of staging. Family Entertainment Weddings
Dovecliff Hall near Burton on Trent, is one of my top recommended venues for weddings, and I often perform there as a close up magician, however in May 2016 I was also hired to add on a children’s magic show and that’s a great way to make sure all of your wedding guests are entertained - the adults and the children. After the event, the bride sent me this review, which I think proves I must be doing something right.

Repeat Bookings at Restaurant Burton on TrentOne of the ways I measure my success is if I am getting repeat bookings, or recommendations from previous clients. I was therefore pleased that in April 2015, I was hired back to perform at The Bell Inn, Anslow, Burton on Trent after having performed there previously in August 2014. Not only that but after that last event a guest who saw me performing at the family fun day held at the pub, then contacted me about their daughter’s 6th birthday. And that’s how my business works. I do a great job and the birthday party event bookings flow from there.
Theatre Magic Show Burton
Throughout 2014 and 2015, I took acting lessons in Burton. I was very confident in my magic ability, but I always think there is room for improvement, so the lessons were a way to improve my stagecraft, showmanship and my performance skills. In turn, I provide a better service to you. As a result of these lessons, I was asked to provide a magic show for one of the younger classes and so I provided my show a small group of theatre students in February 2015 and at the same time got some valuable feedback that helped to push forward and improve my show. Something I am always trying to do.
